許雨仁(b.1951)
HSU Yu Jen (b.1951) was born in Tainan, Taiwan. He graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts in 1975, where he learned from LEE Chun Shan. HSU is good at using geometric composition and painting with minimalist but powerful brushstrokes. While studying in New York, HSU was influenced by Western art and intended to innovate traditional ink painting. He combined the elements of dots and lines to develop a unique style in ink painting. HSU believes that ink painting has the characteristics of innocence, and his works are mostly related to humanity and land, depicting the appearance of the living world and the thoughts of life, which are full of life energy and show the inside sensibility of the artist. HSU’s works were exhibited in Cologne, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, and were collected by museums worldwide such as in the U.S., Hong Kong, and more.
