深藍抑鬱的用色不難使人聯想到畢卡索的藍色時期，同樣以冰冷憂鬱的藍綠色調刻畫人物消瘦孤獨的形象。畫中人物蜷縮的肢體突顯孤單無助的狀態，簡化的背景襯出蒼白的面色，有別於畢卡索畫中的陰沉表情，邱亞才描繪的人物眉目間全是平和淡然，彷彿對世間的無奈與無常皆已看破，沉重的陰鬱情緒化作釋懷的寬容，展現東方文人雅士的修身養性。
